Group tours

In 2017 we currently have 6 group excursions. Each trip has been carefully designed to include the very best food, wine and art in Campania in small, local spots you aren't likely to find in guidebooks or popular travel websites. Each group tour has a maximum of 12 guests. Strong friendships are formed over meals together and in the shared experience of exploring. Each tour includes some guided visits as well as much free time to see, eat or shop on your own. Guests are always free to skip a visit or a meal and relax on the beautiful grounds of Borgo La Pietraia.

2017 Group tours (12 people each)

Food & Wine on THe Amalfi & Cilento Coasts

April 23-30, 2017

May 7-14, 2017

12 people maximum

This tour is recommended for travelers who enjoy beaches, boat rides, seafood and Greek and Roman history.

Explore the food, wine and art of Campania's coast. Borgo La Pietraia overlooking the Tyrrhenian sea will serve as home base for exploring the Amalfi and Cilento coasts.

  • Explore the historic center of the city founded by siren Parthenope, visit the Castel Nuovo and eat lunch at Naples' most historic pizzeria.
  • Travel by private boat along the Amalfi coast to the island of Capri.
  • Discover the ceramics shops and factories in Vietri sul Mare and eat a 5-course seafood feast at a family-run trattoria.
  • Spend a day on the beach at Castellabate Santa Maria and then eat like the locals do in Agropoli.
  • Learn to cook from a Baronessa at her farm on the Sele Plain.
  • Visit the 6th century BCE ruins of Paestum and then the beaches where the Allied forces came ashore during WWII.
  • Taste wine at the Cilento vineyards and visit local farms.

$3100 per person includes accommodations, ground transportation (including airport transfers to Naples), breakfast daily, all dinners, tastings and most lunches. 

Tour begins and ends in Naples. We will pick you up and drop you off at the Naples airport or train station. Airfare not included

To reserve your spot, please make a $150 non-refundable deposit. An invoice for the balance will be sent to you and is due March 31, 2017.

Food & Wine in Irpinia & Cilento

October 1-8, 2017

OCTOBER 15-22, 2017

This tour is recommended for wine lovers, truffles, mountains, cooler temperatures and light hiking.

Explore the mountains of Irpinia and the Cilento coast in this 7-day food and wine focused journey. This group meets in Naples and spends the first three nights in Avellino as a base for exploring wine country. The second part of the trip is set at Borgo La Pietraia.

  • Visit the prestigious vineyards Cantine Caggiano, Quintodecimo and Feudi di San Gregorio. 
  • Have lunch at an old mill in Castelfranci.
  • Visit a local agriturismo for a truffle-laden lunch and visit the archaeological site of Mirabella Eclano.
  • Learn to cook from a Baronessa at her farm on the Sele Plain.
  • Visit the 6th century BCE ruins of Paestum and then the beaches where the Allied forces came ashore during WWII.
  • Relax on the Cilento coast beaches of Castellabate and Agropoli
  • Hike to the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Pomegranate and enjoy sweeping view of the mountains and plains.
